Aquila Art Glass Metallic Collection
The Metallic collection is where Aquila Art Glass moves past solid color into surface effect: silver, gold, and iridescent finishes layered into the glass itself, plus a fractured pattern offered in black and slate. Unlike the brand's plain round and oval line, several Metallic designs are offered as square knobs too, alongside the usual round option.
Iridescent, fractured, and patterned finishes
Three distinct effects run through this collection. Silver Irid and Gold Irid pulls carry an iridescent sheen that shifts under different light. Fractures Black and Fractures Slate use a crackled, broken-glass pattern set into the piece, cast as either a knob or a pull. A separate Patterned option exists in both knob and pull form, without the fracture or iridescent treatment, for a subtler metallic look.
Matching metallic glass to cabinet finishes
Gold and Gold Irid options pair naturally with brass hinges, brass faucets, or warm wood cabinetry, while Silver and Silver Irid sit closer to nickel and chrome hardware already in a kitchen. Fractures Black reads as close to neutral against most cabinet colors since the pattern comes across dark rather than colored. Because the iridescent effect shifts with angle and light, it pays to order one sample piece before outfitting a whole kitchen run.
How Metallic differs from Aquila's other lines
Where Circles & Ovals stays in flat, solid color and Swirl introduces movement through applied pattern, Metallic gets its effect from surface reflectivity instead. Every Aquila line shares the same glass base, all built with an Arts and Crafts sensibility, so mixing pieces from more than one collection in one kitchen still reads as deliberate, not accidental.
Square knobs versus round knobs in this line
Patterned and Fractures Black are the two designs currently offered as square knobs rather than round, giving a kitchen with square-profile hardware elsewhere a way to match shape while still picking up the metallic finish. The rest of the lineup sticks to the brand's usual round knob and bar pull shapes, so square-knob buyers should confirm the shape listing before ordering instead of assuming every Metallic design ships both ways.
