Bronze border tile, sold by the running strip

Borders cabinet hardware here runs as a strip, not a field square: a set of bronze pieces from Rocky Mountain, cut long instead of wide. A 1 3/4 by 13 inch Rectangular piece anchors one end of the size range, a 1 inch wide Morse Code strip the other, and none of them stand alone the way a square field tile would. Picking one pattern for a continuous run also keeps the eye from catching on an abrupt style change partway along a wall.

Pattern reads at strip width

Morse Code presses short and long marks into its narrow face, a rhythm that only registers once several pieces repeat in sequence along a wall. Rivets scales the same raised-stud detail across three lengths, so one motif wraps a tight corner and a long straight run without switching designs mid-project. River Rocks trades pattern for texture instead, an uneven surface closer to tumbled stone than cut metal. Metro keeps a single narrow ridge running its length, quieter than the textured patterns surrounding it.

Metro and Bolt cover the longer spans

Metro measures roughly 1 3/8 by 11 inches and Bolt runs about 1 1/2 by 12, both sized to close out a full backsplash width without a seam splitting the run in the middle. A visible seam bothers a strip more than a square tile, because a viewer's eye tracks the whole length in one glance rather than pausing on a single repeating unit.

A strip earns its place on one edge

This lineup stays out of full wall coverage entirely. A border traces one edge only, a mirror's perimeter, a niche's lip, or the transition between upper and lower cabinets, and it finishes that edge in a single length rather than repeating block by block the way a field tile does. Picking a pattern with restraint pays off once it's set: a busy motif can crowd a small edge fast.
