Edgar Berebi jeweled cabinet hardware
Edgar Berebi calls his hardware "Knobs are Jewelry for the Home," and the production reflects that literally: Swarovski crystals, pearls, and museum-grade gold plating are applied with techniques borrowed from jewelry production rather than standard hardware finishing. Every piece is made to order in the United States; expect 6-8 weeks from order to door. Berebi himself moved into cabinet hardware in the mid-1990s after running a 200-employee jewelry business, and he holds more than 10,800 design copyrights. The full catalog runs past 1,200 designs and extends into stemware, knife handles, and decorative boxes alongside the cabinet line.
The signature collections worth knowing
The Hampton collection is the largest family in the catalog, with knobs and pulls detailed in jeweler-style metalwork. The Kingsbury and Empress lines lean ornamental and traditional. Toulouse covers a softer transitional vocabulary. The Louis XV collection is exactly what it sounds like: heavily ornamented hardware drawn from French historical detail. Other named lines include Jonquil, Bel Air, Symphony, and Renaissance.
How the line is made and what to expect
Every piece is hand-finished in the United States and built per order. The finishing process is closer to jewelry-grade plating than to industrial hardware finishing. Pieces ship in individual presentation packaging. The catalog also includes switch plates and accessory pieces that match the cabinet collections, useful when an entire room is being built around a single aesthetic.
When Edgar Berebi makes sense
Choose Edgar Berebi when the cabinetry is doing serious design work and the buyer wants visibly precious hardware. The brand is a poor fit for spec builds, rental refreshes, or contemporary minimalism. It is a strong fit for traditional, transitional, and historically-referenced kitchens, baths, and built-ins. Plan the install schedule around the 6-8 week window rather than the other way around. Order a couple of extras up front so a damaged piece doesn't require a second wait.
