Buttons you can feel versus a screen you tap

The EMTouch versions swap that for a flat touchscreen instead, which sits nearly invisible on the door until a light tap wakes it for a code. Underneath, both styles share an identical mechanical core, so nothing about security changes between them.

Full handle or deadbolt-only

Choosing a keypad leverset means replacing the whole handle, latch included, a fit for a door getting all-new hardware at once. Choosing a keypad deadbolt instead leaves the existing lever or knob in place and only takes over the deadbolt's job, a smaller job for a door whose handle doesn't need touching. Sandcast bronze wears a rougher, pitted texture from the casting process; modern brass stays flat and even.

Built for one household, not a rotating guest list

A single owner programs and changes the access code here, from a small keypad on the lock itself rather than a phone app or a remote system. That suits a family's own front or back entry, where the same handful of people need reliable access, more than a property cycling through different occupants every few days. If the battery does eventually die, a set of contacts on the outside lets a 9-volt battery power the unit long enough to enter a code and get inside, and the mechanical key override built into every model here works as a permanent backup regardless of battery state.
