Bronze with verde wash cabinet hardware

Bronze with verde wash is one of Anne at Home's hand-applied themed patinas. The solid lead-free pewter base is finished in a warm bronze color and then receives a hand-applied verde wash, a soft sage-to-mineral green overlay that settles into the recessed carved detail. Every pull is finished by hand at the Rhode Island plant and sealed with protective lacquer once both layers are dry.

What the bronze-and-verde combination actually does

The two layers run complementary: warm bronze on the high points, cool sage-green in the recessed work. The visual effect is closest to a bronze object that has weathered outdoors for decades and developed verdigris in the protected hollows. On Anne at Home's figurative castings, the green pools into vine work, leaf veins, scale lines, and decorative recesses while the bronze base reads on the raised surfaces. The contrast makes the carved detail unusually legible.

Where bronze with verde wash fits

Garden-themed kitchens, conservatories, mudrooms near plant-filled rooms, Mediterranean and Tuscan designs. It pairs cleanly with cream and sage painted cabinets, terracotta tile, butcher block counters, and copper or aged-brass plumbing. The finish reads as if the hardware had aged in place alongside the cabinetry, which works particularly well in renovations of older homes where new hardware would otherwise look too crisp.

How it compares to the rest of the wash palette

Among Anne at Home's bronze-base finishes, verde is the only cool overlay. Bronze with copper wash stacks warm-on-warm, and bronze with black wash darkens the recessed work. The closest cross-base sibling is pewter with verde wash, which applies the same green over a cool pewter substrate rather than warm bronze. For the natural verdigris route outside Anne at Home, the copper family develops similar green tones over years of patina.
