Charcoal gray cabinet hardware, glass on one side and zinc on the other
Charcoal gray cabinet hardware splits between two very different production methods that happen to finish at a similar tone: kiln-worked glass from Aquila Art Glass, sold under the name Deco Gray, and cast zinc from Berenson, spread across a mini round knob, a mini square knob, and the Fluid and Fuji pull families.
Two ways to get the same gray
Aquila's Deco Gray knob, plus a matching pull, carries the small tonal drift every kiln-worked piece picks up, since no two batches melt down identically. Berenson's zinc casting skips that drift entirely; a production run stays flat and matched from the first piece to the last, useful when every drawer front in a whole kitchen has to look identical rather than merely close. Fluid stretches from a 192-millimeter span up past 320, while the shorter Fuji tops out around 224.
Matching material to room
Deco Gray leans toward mission and craftsman kitchens, suited to paneled doors with visible joinery, where a small handmade object earns its keep. Berenson's zinc pulls read plainer and more contemporary, built for flat slab fronts that don't need extra visual noise. A house running a craftsman-style pantry off a more modern main kitchen could reasonably use one line in each room without the switch feeling accidental.
Handling and where the color sits
Mounting glass calls for a lighter hand than cast metal needs; an off-center strike at the screw hole can crack the piece right where it passes through. Charcoal gray lands between true black and brighter chrome, missing chrome's coolness but stopping well short of black's flat, toneless surface. Painted doors in navy or sage give this middle-ground gray a background it doesn't fight against, since neither color pulls the eye as hard as a stark white door would.
