Steamworks: distressed pewter, copper worked into the wear

One line carries this distressed pewter / copper cabinet hardware finish: Schaub and Company's Steamworks, named for the built world of early industrial machinery. A distressed pewter base carries copper unevenly worked in, closer to an aged machine part than a plated decorative finish, meant to suggest decades of handling instead of a factory-fresh piece. Every hardware type sampled traces back to this one Steamworks run, pulls, a knob, and multiple appliance-pull styles, instead of several separate collections blended together.

Back-to-back and concealed-surface appliance pulls

Steamworks adds two appliance-pull mounting styles beyond the standard version. A concealed surface pull hides its fasteners from the front entirely, useful on a wide panel where visible screws would break up the finish. A back-to-back style suits a door that needs a pull visible from both faces, a pantry face or a see-through panel. Both come in 12-inch and 15-inch lengths matching the standard appliance pull.

Copper settles at the edges, not the flats

Copper concentrates at raised edges and corners, the spots that would wear first on real aged metal, while flatter pewter surfaces stay muted. That unevenness is deliberate, built to read as wear instead of a second solid color stacked on top. Pieces bought across separate orders read consistently as one finish overall, even though no two distress in exactly the same spot. A kitchen ordering pulls, knob, and appliance pulls together in one pass sees the most even spread of copper across every piece on the door.

Built for a kitchen already leaning industrial

Reclaimed wood, exposed brick, anything already visibly aged suits this texture; a smooth bronze finish would look factory-new sitting next to it. A 6-inch or 96mm pull covers most drawers, the 8-inch stepping up for wider fronts, with the round knob working as a smaller accent up top.
