Dull satin nickel cabinet hardware, one flat sheen, seven names

Dull satin nickel cabinet hardware pushes brushed nickel's already-soft shine down further, to the point where a direct light barely registers on the surface. Century Hardware spreads it across seven separately branded lines: Highlander, Country, Iris, Hartford, Sunglow, Plymouth, and Medieval, a spread wide enough to cover a plain 3-inch cup pull on one end and a fully cast traditional profile on the other.

Traditional shapes lead the group

Plymouth measures 3-1/2 inches and Medieval measures 96 millimeters, each casting visible shoulder shapes onto the metal, a departure from the plain bar most Century pulls use. Hartford's Classic Comfort styling stays in similar territory, a rounded cup pull shaped for a whole hand rather than two fingertips. Country and Sunglow settle for simple round knobs instead, roughly 1-3/8 and 1-3/16 inches across, while Highlander and Iris both come in as 3-inch cup pulls.

Where this stops being ordinary satin nickel

Standard satin nickel keeps a faint sheen visible at the right angle. This finish drops even that, closer to true matte, which means fingerprints and light handling marks blend into the surface more easily here than on the brighter original. The cost is dimension: viewed up close, tone shifts less as light crosses the piece, so the surface can look a touch flat compared with its brighter sibling. That tradeoff works in favor of any kitchen getting heavy daily use, where fewer visible fingerprints matter more than catching a gleam under a pendant light.

Filling out a Century kitchen

Warmer traditional options in a matching shape range live under brass and bronze elsewhere in Century's lineup. Because seven collection names share this one surface, double-check a listing's photo against the shape actually wanted, since Sunglow and Country look nothing alike despite carrying identical finish, and a mixed order built on name alone can arrive looking far less coordinated than expected.
