What Monticello silver looks like on Schaub's traditional hardware

Monticello silver is the finish name Schaub and Company gave this cabinet hardware, not a generic industry term; it appears on the brand's French Court and, separately, Cantata lines, both built around ornate, traditional detailing instead of the simpler profiles common to contemporary hardware. The finish reads as a bright, cool silver, closer to polished nickel than to pewter or brushed steel.

The styles Monticello silver is built for

French Court knobs and pulls carry swag detailing and backplates sized for older cabinetry with wider drill patterns, while Cantata's simpler round and oblong knobs run smaller, without the backplate. Both suit kitchens and baths with raised-panel doors, furniture-style islands, or existing traditional trim already in place. Monticello silver tends to feel wrong on a flat slab door with no molding to echo it.

What each collection actually offers

Cantata covers pulls at 5, 8, and 12 inch centers, an oblong knob at roughly 7/8 by 2 inches, a round knob at 1-1/4 inch diameter, and an oval knob around 1-1/4 by 2 inches. French Court adds a large swag pull at 5-3/8 inch centers, a smaller swag pull at 3-1/2 inch centers, a round knob at 1-1/2 inch diameter, and a backplated knob at 7-3/8 inches for doors that previously used a bigger traditional piece and need extra footprint to hide old screw holes.

Buying across two collections

Because French Court and the Cantata line are different product families, check the collection name on each listing before ordering; a French Court backplate won't share drill centers with a Cantata pull even though both carry the same Monticello silver finish and the same overall bright, cool tone.

Nearby tones

A warmer traditional option is available under brass; for something darker, bronze covers similar ornate profiles in a deeper tone.
