The Hardware Resources UMS MDB500 Series is a complete metal drawer box system that pairs a DURA-CLOSE steel-sided drawer box with an integrated USE58-500 Series undermount soft-close slide. Because the box and runner are engineered together as one matched assembly, buyers order a single unit rather than sourcing a separate drawer box and slide independently. The undermount slide mounts below the drawer, keeping the interior free of visible hardware.

MDB500 Series boxes are available in three depths — 15 inch, 18 inch, and 21 inch — and in two side heights: a 3-1/2-inch low side and a 7-1/4-inch tall side. The low-side option suits shallow utensil drawers, while the tall-side option is appropriate for deeper storage such as pots or pantry items. Cabinet interior depth should be confirmed against the chosen box depth before ordering to ensure the assembly seats correctly.

The MDB500 Series uses steel sides, which produce a thinner wall than a wood box and add a small amount of usable interior width. The steel construction and integrated undermount slide give the system a clean European frameless aesthetic suited to modern frameless cabinetry and full-access boxes. A separate wood-box-plus-runner build requires independent component matching between the box and slide, whereas the MDB500 eliminates that fit problem by supplying both as one engineered unit with the runner concealed beneath the box.
