Keyed and non-keyed Stretto sideplate sets

Narrow door stiles rule out a standard rosette, which is why Emtek built the Stretto sideplate lock for lever knob entry and patio sets: a slim trim plate sized to fit the vertical frame piece beside the glass on a French or patio door, cabinet hardware buyers rarely need on a standard interior opening. Each comes in a keyed version for an exterior-facing opening and a non-keyed version for an interior door or a patio opening already secured elsewhere.

What the model number signals

Non-keyed Stretto locks carry model numbers in the 6141 and 9141 range, while the keyed versions sit at 6442 and 9442, a pattern holding true across both the bronze and stainless finishes offered here. Reach for keyed on a patio door that opens to the outside and needs to secure from either side. Reach for non-keyed on a French door between two interior rooms, or a patio opening a separate primary lock already handles on its own.

Two plate lengths for two stile widths

Stretto comes cut to a compact plate just over 10 inches, and an extended version running past 11 inches, the shorter matching a typical door stile and the taller needed wherever the sideplate has to clear a bulkier lock body or nearby trim work. Measure the sideplate currently mounted on the door, not the door's overall width, before choosing between the two.

Bronze, stainless, or sandcast

Tuscany bronze and the stainless line share an identical Stretto silhouette cast in different materials, while a sandcast bronze rectangular option trades that narrow profile for a wider, more textured surface with a hand-formed look. Sandcast pieces vary somewhat from unit to unit, an expected trait of that casting process rather than an inconsistency worth returning over.
