Locking a panel is not the same as moving it

A latch meant only to secure a lightweight sliding door has one job and stops there; it has no bearing on how easily that door glides. Heavier glass panels need a mechanism that also manages the physical act of moving, since their own weight would otherwise drag against the track and resist a smooth push by hand once the bolt is retracted.

One footprint, several plate shapes

One design scales up to a noticeably larger plate, a better proportion against a wider panel where a smaller backplate would look thin next to that much glass.

Every lift-slide system is built by the door manufacturer around a specific roller and track chassis, so the correct backplate and lift height depend on that spec sheet, not on guesswork from the panel's size alone. Note whether the opening needs one handle set or a matching pair meeting at a center post before placing an order. A door already sagging or dragging on its track often points to worn rollers rather than the lock hardware itself, worth ruling out before assuming new hardware alone will fix a panel that's become hard to move.
