Mack names a second plate profile in this door hardware line, distinct from what the brand offers for cabinets and longer and narrower than Briggs's round outline. One euro-profile plate measures 64 by 254 millimeters. A second, shorter version measures 44 by 279 millimeters, matching a different cylinder length. Mack also covers an oval-cylinder plate sized the same 44 by 279 millimeters, a plain latch trim at 64 by 254 millimeters, a lock plate sized for bathroom doors at 64 by 114 millimeters, and a mortise plate cut for a large notched key in place of a modern pin-tumbler cylinder, also sized 64 by 114 millimeters.

Why the notched-key plate stands apart

That mortise mechanism predates the pin-tumbler cylinders used in most of today's replacement hardware, so this particular plate matters mainly to a house whose door still runs the older lock behind it. A buyer replacing everyday hardware in a newer home can skip this listing without a second thought; it exists for a period property keeping its original mechanism while refreshing the visible trim around it. None of Mack's remaining listings carry that same requirement.

Telling the two euro-profile lengths apart

The 64 by 254 millimeter plate and the 44 by 279 millimeter plate fit different cylinder lengths rather than different doors, so measuring the cylinder itself, not the door slab, keeps a replacement plate from sitting proud instead of flush. The oval-cylinder plate shares its dimension with one of the two euro sizes above but fits an entirely different lock body underneath; matching numbers on paper doesn't guarantee matching mechanisms.

What the latch trim covers

The latch trim, at 64 by 254 millimeters, carries no cylinder cutout at all, meant for a passage or privacy latch operated without any key. Check which mechanism the door currently holds, keyed cylinder, mortise, or plain latch, before ordering; these plates don't swap across mechanism types even where two dimensions look identical on paper. Like Briggs, a Mack plate still needs a separate lever or knob to finish a working door.
