Multi-point sliding sets: cabinet hardware's trim layer over a French door lock
Everything Emtek contributes here is trim, not the lock itself: the visible lever, cylinder housing, and plate that dress up a multi-point mechanism the door manufacturer installs before the door ever ships. The Modern Stainless Steel Multi Point Lock Trim (11A1ATLH) reads the most stripped-down of the group, while the Rectangular Sandcast (1151ARLH) and Large Arched Sandcast (1L1A21ARLH) options carry the pitted texture that comes from pouring bronze into a sand mold rather than machining it smooth. A Rocky Mountain Hardware Rectangular Entry Sliding Door Set rounds out the group at 1 3/4" x 11", built as a complete unit rather than trim over a separate lock.
Tuscany, Melrose, Concord: reading the style names
Tuscany Multi Point Lock Trim (1131MDILH) leans Old World, carrying more surface modeling than the flat Modern line offers. Concord (1171AGLH) and the Large Melrose (1L1M11AGLH) split the difference: enough shape to avoid looking stark, without going as far as full sandcast texture. An arched profile only makes sense over an arched opening. A Large Arched piece looks wrong regardless of finish quality if it's forced onto a square-top door frame; the plate shape has to follow the actual opening, not the other way around.
LH, RH, and why handing isn't optional
Every product name here ends in LH or RH for a reason: get the hand wrong and the lock cylinder ends up mounted where the hinge is, not where your fingers reach for it. Stand outside the door and note which way it actually swings or slides before choosing. It also pays to check backset and spindle length against whatever multi-point chassis is already specified for the door, since Emtek trim doesn't automatically bolt onto hardware from a competing lock manufacturer, and a mismatch usually means a return.
