Handing: doubly important once a door slides

A hinged door can be rehung the other way if someone gets the hand wrong. A sliding panel can't; its track is fixed in place, so the LH or RH stamped into every item name here isn't a formality. Stand on the exterior face and watch which direction the active panel actually travels ahead of ordering, since the cylinder, thumbturn, and pull all sit fixed relative to that direction of travel, and there's no correcting it after installation without reordering the opposite hand entirely.

Stainless smoothness against sandcast grain

The Arched Sandcast (1111ARLH) and its larger sibling carry the slightly pitted surface that comes from a sand-cast pour, texture that hides fingerprints and reads as older or handmade. Stainless trim, by contrast, stays visually consistent unit to unit and suits a door built with clean, contemporary lines. Neither finish changes how the lock's multi-point mechanism underneath actually operates; which surface fits depends on the door it's mounted to, and on the other finishes already used nearby. Neither option is inherently better; the decision comes down to look, not function.
