Richelieu Hardware Hearst Collection

Richelieu Hardware Hearst Collection cabinet hardware

The Richelieu Hardware Hearst Collection is a modern-industrial line of knurled bar pulls with a matching knob, made of aluminum with a fine textured grip along the bar. The knurling is the whole idea: it catches the light, gives your fingers something to hold, and brings a machined, tool-like character to otherwise plain cabinetry.

What identifies the Hearst look

Every Hearst pull is a straight round bar with a knurled finish, set on two simple posts that stand 1 3/8 in off the door, which leaves room for a full grip. Center-to-center sizes run 3 in (76 mm), 3 3/4 in (96 mm), 5 1/16 in (128 mm), 7 9/16 in (192 mm), 12 5/8 in (320 mm) and 17 5/8 in (448 mm), covering everything from small drawers to tall pantry doors. Finishes are natural Aluminum, Satin Brass and Matte Black; the 3 in size comes in Satin Brass and Matte Black only. A 13/16 in (20 mm) round knurled knob in Satin Brass or Matte Black completes the set.

Buying considerations

Hearst suits modern, industrial and transitional kitchens where texture adds interest without ornament. It reads especially well on slab and flat-panel doors, next to stone or concrete counters, and alongside open shelving. The knurled bar gives a surer grip than a smooth pull, which helps on busy drawers near the sink and range. The knob is small at 13/16 in, so it works best on upper doors and narrow drawers; choose the 3 in or 3 3/4 in pull where a door needs a firmer handhold, and the 12 5/8 in or 17 5/8 in sizes for wide drawers and tall doors. Pulls include M4 screws (25 mm long) and the knob includes 8/32 screws, so check your door and drawer thickness before installing. Keep one finish per room: Matte Black for contrast, Satin Brass for warmth, or natural Aluminum for a cooler metal look.
