Smedbo Home spans three finishes in one cabinet hardware line

Home is unusual among Smedbo's collections for covering more than one finish. Brushed nickel accounts for the bulk of the lineup, but the same robe hook is also offered in brushed chrome and polished chrome. Frosted glass appears throughout the collection as well: a soap dispenser, a bathroom shelf, and a tumbler holder all pair frosted glass with the metal hardware. Two towel hooks, a double and a single, round out the line in brushed nickel, along with a wall-mounted towel rail, plus a towel ring sized for everyday use.

Choosing between the finish options

Brushed nickel has a warmer look and reflects less light than either chrome option, and it's the finish most of the Home lineup uses by default. Brushed chrome sits close to brushed nickel in tone but cooler; polished chrome is the brightest and most reflective of the three. If a bathroom already has chrome plumbing fixtures, matching the robe hook's chrome option avoids an obvious mismatch on the one piece where Home offers a choice.

Where the frosted glass pieces fit

The frosted glass shelf holds bottles and small items without the fully transparent look of clear glass, useful for a shelf that's going to collect everyday clutter rather than display it. The frosted soap dispenser and the tumbler holder work the same way: glass that softens what's visible through it rather than showing every fingerprint on the container.

Planning a Home bathroom order

Since brushed nickel is the default across most pieces, confirm which finish a specific item is available in before assuming; the robe hook stands alone as the one item offered in all three. Frosted glass elements can chip at the edges more visibly than clear glass, so mounting hardware securely on the first try matters more with these pieces than it would with a metal-only item. Pairing the towel ring and rail from the same finish run also avoids a subtle tone difference that can show up between separately ordered nickel pieces.
