Get the Right Fit

Hardware Size Guide

Choosing the right size hardware is essential for both function and aesthetics. Use this guide to find the perfect fit for your cabinets.

Measuring for Pulls

Cabinet pull sizing is described by the center-to-center (C-to-C) measurement — the distance between the centers of the two mounting holes. This is not the overall length of the pull.

To measure: use a ruler or tape measure to find the distance between the centers of your existing screw holes. Match this measurement to a Knobs.co pull with the same C-to-C dimension.

Pro tip: If you're drilling new holes, choose your pull first and drill to match. Standard C-to-C sizes (3", 3 3/4", 5 1/16") are easiest to source in the future.

Knob Sizing

Knobs are measured by their diameter (the widest point of the knob). Unlike pulls, knobs mount on a single screw — so there's no C-to-C measurement. The most common kitchen and bath knob sizes are 1 1/4" to 1 1/2".

Do You Need a Backplate?

Backplates serve two purposes: they protect your cabinet finish from wear around the hardware hole, and they add an extra layer of decorative detail. They're especially recommended for painted cabinets.

Knobs.co offers matching backplates for many collections. If you're replacing hardware with different hole spacing, a backplate can also cover the old holes.
